Developing a strong safety culture and delivering superior safety performance is achieved by having dedicated and engaged leadership working with a committed and skilled workforce. Together, we can work towards a Goal of Zero; injuries, illnesses, and incidents. The improvements in our safety program, has resulted in significantly fewer accidents, but we cannot rest on our success. We must continually work to achieve the Goal of Zero.
Our on-going training, education, and testing will ensure a safe work place:
- -All new employees must complete Safety Orientation Training, which includes proper usage of company provided personal protection equipment
- -Drug and alcohol testing occurs pre-employment, randomly during employment, reasonable suspicion, and post- accident.
- -Employees receive annual training in specific trade-related safety areas such as: forklift, confined space training, H2S, fall awareness protection, rigging and signalman and hazard communication.
Our hiring standards reinforce our commitment to a safe work culture by choosing experienced drivers specific to our industry of OFG.
In addition to the implementation of CSA 2010, E.L. Farmer & Co. has developed a program to track, monitor and manage our basic scores to ensure our drivers and equipment follow and comply with CSA Standards.
